The National Internet Data Centre (NIDC) was proud to participate in the Kids Tech Festival 2026, held from 16–17 August 2026, an inspiring platform that brought together children, technology, and innovation to nurture creativity, digital skills, and problem-solving among young minds.
During the two-day festival, NIDC Business Manager, Ms. Leila Masanga, engaged with young innovators and introduced them to the world of data centres and cloud computing. She shared insights into what data centres are, how they operate, and the important role cloud computing plays in today’s increasingly digital world.
The event also provided an opportunity for children to showcase their own technological projects and innovative solutions. Their creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm demonstrated the remarkable potential of young Tanzanians when given opportunities to explore and engage with technology.
Beyond the exhibits and interactive sessions, the festival highlighted the importance of early exposure to technology and digital education in preparing the next generation to actively contribute to Tanzania’s digital transformation. By creating spaces where children can learn, experiment, and innovate, initiatives such as the Kids Tech Festival are helping build a strong foundation for the country’s future digital economy.
For NIDC, participating in the festival reaffirmed the importance of supporting initiatives that inspire, educate, and empower young people to become the technology innovators of tomorrow.
NIDC remains committed to contributing to Tanzania’s digital transformation by promoting digital awareness, innovation, and opportunities that equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the digital age.
