NIDC was delighted to welcome Mr. Diègue Nifasha, Chief Executive Officer of Burundi Backbone System (BBS), and his delegation to our Data Centre on 8 September 2026.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for both organisations to exchange ideas, share insights, and explore opportunities for collaboration in the areas of digital infrastructure, connectivity, and data centre services. The engagement also provided an opportunity for the BBS delegation to gain a closer understanding of NIDC’s infrastructure and capabilities.

Representing NIDC during the engagement was Ms. Leila Masanga, Commercial Manager, who led discussions on potential areas of collaboration and opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two organisations.

As digital transformation continues to reshape economies and communities across the region, strategic partnerships between institutions such as NIDC and BBS are essential to advancing reliable digital infrastructure, regional connectivity, and sustainable digital development.

NIDC extends its appreciation to Mr. Diègue Nifasha and the BBS delegation for the visit and for the constructive and inspiring discussions. We look forward to building stronger partnerships and identifying new opportunities to contribute to the growth of the digital ecosystem across the region.
